Its 12:34pm make a wish.
Tomorrow I'm going to Saskatchewan! :) That's funny! I don't know why Saskatchewan has such a reputation for being such a boring...dumb place to go to. Perhaps I'll learn this weekend and have something to share next week. In case any one was wondering, the CTV show Corner Gas will not allow anyone to be an extra on the show unless you live (pay your taxes) in Saskatchewan. No matter how hard I try, I can't think of any way to pay my taxes in Saskatchewan without actually having to go there more than once...I really want to be an extra in one of tv's most awesome show...but I don't think its going to happen. Who knows what can happen in Saskatchewan though...I'll let you know next week.
New developments this week: New Tires on my car...new voicemail/phone system at work...new development in the Snack Box scandal (that information will remain conversation only...you never know who reads these things)...got my Music Exam back and found my mistake was in Intervals....oops...(I got 99% in case you'd forgotten)...that's about it.
I'm planning on having lobster for dinner! MMMMmmmmm...my Mom and I won a gift certificate to the fish market back in February which expires after today, so I'll go get me some red creepy crawlers after work....I can't wait!
That's all that's going on in my world...uneventful. My emotions have been a rollercoaster lately with the marriage breakup of my mentor & good friend, my work difficulties, the Daumlers leaving.....SPEAKING of which, Tom called me a week Friday. They are all well and Faith is doing much better and now is healthy. Thank you to all who prayed.
Needless to say, I've been an emotional basket case...hopefully a good dose of Saskatchewan will put all things in perspective for me. Have a great Canada Day/Independance day long weekend!
God Bless,
**please take a moment to offer a prayer up for Tom & Lise Daumler and their 4 girls...they are missionaries in Africa and enjoying a break in the capitol city. Thank you.

Confession
I just wanted to write to tell everyone how much I love my boyfriend. He's amazing....he brings me flowers, and chocolate...takes me on thoughtful dates...he makes plans for us whenever I'm complacent and wish I didn't have to make the decisions. He puts up with me despite that I'm over emotional & occasionally...(or often) high maintenance. He tells me he loves me a dozen or more times a day...and always offers to do things for me. He's fantastic, and I love him to bits.

Choose You This Day
Have you ever had an experience in life that made you question everything you believed up until that point? Have you ever had to put your entire life through a strainer and find out what was truth & what was not...(not that you'll ever find out). I've had now 2 of those situations. The most recently, started Sunday and completely rocked my world. I'm not sure exactly how to respond to it, or understand it. I don't know how to reconsile the one hand with the other. I understand this blog will likely not make too much sense to most...but blogs are for rambling...and I think that's what I need to do with this situation...ramble through it. Knowing what to do...what to say...what to think...in a situation like this, is so hard...and I'm no expert. I'll try to use the past however, as a guide to help me get through this one...
The other day I was reading II Kings 1. The story was about a King who was very sick and so sent some of his servants to seek of the god Baal to find out whether or not he would be healed. On his way, God sent a prophet to intercept the servants to tell them that because this King saught answers from another god, that he surely would die. I started to wonder...why, after knowing the supreme power of Almighty God, would one seek the counsel of other "gods". As I let my mind wander & tried to understand the thought process of this King, I thought...perhaps he wanted to know an answer right away. Perhaps he wanted something "tangible" a word from someone...saying yes or no. Perhaps he know because of his power & status he would likely have someone respond with a "you will surely live" for fear of the consequences of another answer. But God intercepted him...and what I learned about that...what God whispered in my ear that night, was that no matter how big...or small the questions, He wanted me to go to Him. I know this is a fundimental of the Christian faith, but how many Christians actually live by this truth and take all....every single question...first to their Father God? God told me once again that I need to do that...and I imagine...that that truth, will be my rock in the midst of a shaken & unstable world.

Something's Burning In The Kitchen!
Today has not really started off on the right foot. When I first got into the office, the phone was ringing off the hook. Now I got here about 10 minutes before opening, so....listen to the message, and call back after 9am. Nope...this individual called back I'd say....10 times in a ROW. So for 10 minutes, the phone was ringing, however I decided to be as stubborn as this individual on the phone and not answer until 9am. When I finally answered, annoyed like crazy, a lady on the other line told me she had sewage in her basement and had the firemen there. I helped her accordingly. Then I decided to put my Quaker oatmeal bar in the microwave (you're supposed to). You are supposed to put it in for 10 seconds...but I wasn't thinking and turned on the microwave (its on one of those dials, so you turn the dial to how long you want to keep it in there...)(I turned it to 5 minutes). The next thing I know, I'm talking to Lori and she shrieks "SOMETHING's BURNING IN THE KITCHEN!" and indeed...smoke was billowing out of the microwave. Brilliant Friesen. Now it smells HORRIBLE in here...blaght!
Last night we got Swiss Chalet Takeout...it was SO yummy. I want to have that for dinner again today! :) Today we are going shopping for Troy's nearly 2 year old niece. How fun! I love shopping for kids!
That's all from me to this point. Have a great day, I hope its not rainy somewhere in the world today....Please take a minute right now to pray for the Daumler Family in Africa. Tom, Lise, Maggie, Ainsley, Faith & Naomi. Thank you.
God Bless,

It Smells Like the Cottage
Apparently scent is the strongest link to memory...this morning my office smells like the cottage. When I was a kid, I used to spend a lot of my summer at the cottage. My Grandparents used to get up early, and make coffee...I always thought it smelled bad...but now...this morning I remember waking up at the cottage and that makes me happy.
Southern Alberta is supposed to get 90mm of rain today. Holy crap that's a lot of rain! Its unbelievable how much rain we have gotten so far this month! In Ontario...April SHOWERS bring May flowers. In Calgary, June showers FLOOD BASEMENTS!
My little Faith is doing much better, thank you for your prayers. Things in Africa are going great for them it sounds like. Right now they are beginning their ministry there and are going to be doing a "Feeding of the 5000" and feeding the entire community. Please pray for this event as many will see the white faces of those wanting to bring them Jesus. There is a new Orphan at the orphanage, she is 2 weeks old. Please pray for her health. Tom & Lise have informed us of a need at the Orphanage...and that is a water system that will bring running water into the buildings. Right now they only have a well which they have to pull water up with buckets from. They have said this system will cost between $1500 - $2500. If you are reading this and know of someone/something that can help, let me know.
Other than that...MY BOYFRIEND IS AMAZING. I love him to bits. :)
Chelsea and I are going for Sushi today for lunch, and I can't wait..Mmmmmm....sushi...
Ciao

Goin To The BIG Apple
So I'm goin on another trip to the Big Apple...its been decided...dates & times...not so much...but I'm going....WE'RE going (hopefully). I miss my Dad & Step Mom LOTS so...it'll be nice to spend some time with them...and my boy...
So I had to legally raise my right hand for the first time in my life today. No bible or anything...but I had to raise my right hand and swear an oath to the validity of Henry Friesen. (I sure hope Emma's reading this cause she will get a KICK out of it!) The long story is that Henry Friesen (no relation) is the next door neighbor to my office. He's some sort of undesignated counselor...I don't know...I think its weird, but whatever. Anyway, Henry came by yesterday wondering if I could witness his signature. He's going to be suing someone, and needed to sign this legal paperwork. Ok....done....easily enough. Or so I thought...he called me later wondering if I could come over to the registry to do the witnessing (again) because we did it wrong initially....so I did. (well today)... :) He said he's pay me for my time...(what's 15 minutes worth?) but no money was ever seen...hmmmm...
Please keep Faith, and the rest of the Daumler Family, (Tom, Lise, Maggie, Ainsley & Naomi) in prayer. No updates as of yet.
Anyway, I'm out...maybe I'll think of something else later on.

Please Pray
Please pray for Faith. Faith is 7 years old and is my sister. She's one of 4 girls belonging to Tom & Lise Daumler...(my Calgary family). They moved to Africa May 8th following the call of God to go and love orphans...and run an oprhanage in Burkina Faso, West Africa. Faith has come down with Malaria, and her sister Maggie (10) is feeling ill as well. Please pray for them...
In other news, I got 99% on my music theory exam. First Class Honors with Distinction.

All for $90
So our building (where I work) was broken into today for the 2nd time this week. The first time, they broke into the Tanning Salon & stole $40, and the Yoga Place and got $50. This time, same story…however this time, they broke through the wall to get in. If you were going to rob a place, and only got $90 the first time, why would you go back? That’s not a whole lot of money! Go somewhere you can get more than that! Seriously!
So my RAGE got me a free coffee today. J By RAGE I mostly mean we were waiting on our printer cartridge supplier to come pick up cartridges (used ones) for 2 weeks. My receptionist had called 5 times, to no avail, so I called….and was promised a pick up. No luck. So I called again. The owner of the business came in today with a peace offering for everyone. Now I’m at peace. J You get much further with people when you are nice to them…(so obviously by RAGE I mean, persistence…not anger) So Free Coffee.
I feel much more rested today, I slept last night…but I’m surprised I got up in time for work today, because I shut my alarm off and went back to bed. OOPS! J
I think its Kerey Smith’s birthday today! He’s having a party tonight & Troy & I were responsible for bringing along some games to play…we are ready with some pass the pigs, blackjack & Croquet. That should be enough, and certainly fun!
Anyway, have a great day!

Old Friends
I received an email today from an old friend. Martin was an Instructor and worked on Staff while I attended Tauernhof in July - December of 1999. He was from Austria, and a quiet yet wise man. I remember the way Martin pounced from rock to rock when scrambling was something to watch...his feet seemed so sure...and he never wavered or was uncertain. At one point I commented on this...and his response to me was "Shara, I don't have confidence in my own feet...I have confidence in Jesus, and because of that, my feet are secure." Whether or not Martin ever fell, I have no idea, however that comment has stuck with me for 6 years. I'll never forget Martin's sure feet...and I'll never forget the source of his sure feet.
Anyway, I received an email from him today! He told me they have shortened the Upward Bound program to 4 weeks (from 6) and are looking for more students. So if you're interested, it'll likely be the best experience of your life. I'd recommend it beyond anything.

Chelsea, Martin said to say hello to you! :)
Anyway, back to the ol' grind. Happy June 8th to all.

**P.S. Its camp day today, so if you live anywhere near a Tim Hortons, go and get a coffee, all the proceeds go towards Kids camp. Do it for the kids. Ciao!

Sleepless in Calgary
It is now 4:05am and I am so extremely tired. I haven't been able to sleep tonight but have managed to stay in bed until now. Perhaps if I get up and move around maybe even have a shower it will help me to sleep for a few hours before I have to get up again. Maybe I'll play some Corner Gas!
I hear a bird singing outside...I wonder if that means its stopped raining...several parts of Southern Alberta have been evacuated because of all the rain...I"m still dry so far in my little apartment, but the singing of birds was a good sign in Noah's time, and I'm pretty sure ours as well.
Have a great day all. Look for the rainbow!

Corn Chips & Earl Grey Tea
Ok, I've now done the combination of Earl Grey Tea & Corn Chips...and now no one else has to try it, cause its gross! I've also tried the Perogie/Whip Cream combination and its great...so give it a try. I love that. Also...Ritz crackers, cheese whiz & oysters...also a yummy combination...(make sure you heat up the Oysters and don't look at them). I don't want any comments on this site about oysters either, from those of you who won't be named...keep your comments to yourself. :)
Its flooding outside like crazy. I wish I had a raft or a canoe or something cause I'm sure I could find some overflowing puddle to have fun in! And then maybe if it were to flood in my basement suite I'd have somewhere dry to hang out.
So the weekend Birthday events were super great. You already likely read about my lobster extravaganza, Saturday evening we (T&I) met some friends for some Bubble Tea & Wings at Bubble Mania. From there we checked out the Casino where I was a BIG winner, and doubled my money! I didn't start out with a whole lot mind you, but I came out with double what I started with. (that was from playing Blackjack!) Troy also won a little bit of money too. Isn't it great when the Casino doesn't win? Following the Casino fun, we headed to Duckys for some Karokee...now I've discovered that I don't really like to sing Karokee...but would much rather watch others. Chelsea for example, was born to sing Karokee. She honestly should be a professional cause she's so good at it. Give her Rap, R&B, Rock, Country, she can do it all...and well. Especially the rap. Anyway, I did make a fool of myself, along with a few others...and called it a night. Sunday Troy & I met at the Lido for breakfast! That's my favorite! Mmmm...the rest of the day Troy spent at church and I spent doing chores...laundry etc...getting ready for our day trip. Monday was a water park event! There weren't too many slides open, however that definitely did not diminish the quality of our day! We had so much fun playing in the wave pool and relaxing in the hot tub & racing down the slides. It was a day to remember...but we didn't even take one picture! :) We also did some shopping and stuff while we were there...had a breakfast buffet etc....it was a great day. Fantastic.
Tonight some more of my favorite people get to meet the boy in my life. love introducing people to this great man! I think both Lisa &Catherine will love him.
Well I better get back to work, my lunch hour is nearly over! Have a great day!
Happy Belated Birthday Carrie Penner! Welcome to 25! Our insurance goes down! YEAH!

Budders Always Pay
I have something noteworthy to write about today, besides my birthday surprises, so I'll start with that. This morning I left the house early because I had nothing left to do there and I wanted to make sure I got some coffee before starting my work day. Despite the long line-up, I waited. 9 cars in front of me...that's manageable. So I'm sitting in my car, enjoying my music, and a Jimmy drives up beside me and cuts in front of me, and 3 other cars on the other side of the drive through(also in front of me) and takes the Black Honda CRV's spot in line. I sat there and my mouth dropped open...and I sat in shock...eventually my eyes made their way to the lady in the Black CRV and both of us raised our arms in confusion...what on earth was he thinking? I sat in line...fuming...budding in my mind is NOT acceptable. So I devised a plan. I would follow him as he drove away (besides I was early for work anyway) and then I'd call the police and tell them there was an erratic drive in front of me, swerving all over the road and I thought he might be intoxicated. The police would come find him, and pull him over...and that would show him for budding! Then I thought that would be a horrible thing to do...what if I made him late for wherever he was going to... (that's my practical, not so mean side) I decided he should have thought about that before budding in line in front of us. So the plan was set...as I drove up to the window to pick up my order, I followed his vehicle with my eyes...not to let it out of my site...and the Tim Hortons drive through lady told me the man in DEV371 had paid $2 towards my breakfast for cutting me off....he felt bad...oopsie...
All my plans fell through the crack....(likely a good thing)...no erratic driver no phone call to police...and $2 off my breakfast. Hmmm...I kinda feel bad for all the planning and scheming and less than uplifting thoughts I had about that man... but...I guess Budders always pay...or else they should!
So my birthday was fantastic...well not the work part of it...that was quite horrible as I had my first experience with having one of my staff getting fired...and having to deal with that. It was definitely a day of learning, but not something I'd like to learn again soon.
Troy picked me up close to 6pm with a few of my favorite things in tow..."pink" roses, a "milka" chocolate bar...and my cute boy. We drove to Red Lobster where we waited in line for quite some time...(but had fun doing it with games & such)...and then on with the feast. I had my yummy lobster...(my mouth is watering thinking about it)...crab legs and shrimp...it was a feast. It was fun to rip and pry my way through my meal, and I think my man may even like lobster a tiny little bit. After we gourged ourselves...(OH I forgot what my present was!) He created this picture frame back & front picture of us...I can't really explain it, but its super cute, and then he gave me a certificate which he made, for 1 full day, all expenses paid, a trip to West Ed Mall...water park and whever else my little heart desires on Monday. (He took the day off!) So I will look forward to that.
On our way home, we stopped at Blockbuster to get movies and rented some "CSI" another of my favorite things. We watched a couple episodes and..the night ended...
It was a great birthday.
Ending note....I'm not a mean spirited person. I may have evil thoughts...but I've never followed through on them...I mostly thought the calling the police story would be a good story for later...and having lived with myself for 25 years so far, I don't imagine I would have followed through on my plan anyway...I don't even think I have mean thoughts...I'm MOSTLY nice...I think...sorry DEV371. (that's his license plate....I memorized it. :)
Have a super day, Happy Birthday Michael Dick.

I Tried to Win A Bike Today
I was at this work meeting downtown which I had to battle the rain for...but anyway they were giving away a free bicycle! I was certain I'd win...I even prayed that I would...but nope. (I only prayed cause once Chelsea prayed and won a TV) (maybe God figured I was using Him)...anyway...no bike.
So Troy's got me excited...he's planned some kinda surprise for this weekend to celebrate me turning a quarter of a century. I'm super excited! Plus, I get to eat LOBSTER which is my favorite thing ever. I think I had a dream about it last night now that I think about it...
Time is standing still right now...it seems like I am moving....but the clock is not.....AGGGGGRRRHHHH. (what does that word sound like?)
I'm off,
