I went to Centre Street Church last night for their 6 o'clock service. It was really enjoyable. The girl sitting infront of me was worth mentioning. She was quite tall, had a big mane of dark curly hair, with a section of it tied up. She had glasses, no make-up and BIG eyes. I'm sure she is a lovely girl. My first impression was that she doesn't take very good care of herself, and doesn't have a great fashion sense. You know the type of person that when you're talking to them, they are scaning the room seeming to be looking for someone? The person in the group easily distracted by everything? The entire service, this girl seemed to be perhaps looking for someone...maybe she was looking for a friend? Maybe a handsome man...I don't know, but she didn't stop looking. She sat by herself. Anyway as the service was ending, a very pretty girl came up and said hello to her. Once again, this girl seemed like she couldn't care less for the attention and continued looking around for someone else...how strange. Made me think about God....and how most often in my life, I've been frustrated looking for God...trying to see glimpses of his truth. And perhaps he was standing right infront of me, saying..."hello!" and I couldn't care less.
Anyway.
She was interesting anyway. Pastor Henry spoke of Generosity. And the impact that has on the world...and on us. It was a fantastic message. I love listening to that man. He is a celebrity to me...I fear if I had the opportinty to be in the same space as him, that I would clam up, and my tongue would stick to the roof of my mouth. He seems to have such a holy presence around him, and he seems so wise. I enjoy his teaching.
Chelsea's baby shower was fantastic! So fun! Probably 15-20 people came, and she had a ton of presents which was fantastic! What a great time!
I slept in until 10am this morning. That is rare for me, but so enjoyable. I feel so frefreshed this morning.
My husband is coming home in a few minutes, and I'm going to go make him some pizza.

Chelsea's baby Shower
I am in the midst of getting ready for Chelsea's baby shower in countdown...5 hours, 8 minutes. I've been baking, and cleaning all morning. Its been fun. I hard time sleeping cause I was so excited! I think it will be a fun time!
Last night we went to the movies (Jackass) and out to eat. Troy took me on a date. And then this morning after his groceries run, he brought me flowers. He's so sweet! :) I love him! The movie...which I promised Troy we'd never tell other people we went to see...was funny at times, and crude at times, and just un-watchable at others. It was enjoyable...but I wouldn't necessarily reccomend it...and just so no one thinks we are horrible people for supporting this movie...we didn't pay for the tickets. Someone gave me a couple movie passes! So SHAME ON THEM!!! for supporting this movie.
Anyway, I'm procrastinating. I should get going.

Bierbabies
We went to visit Darren & Nicky along with Vienna and Eden yesterday. What a blast! How fun it is to play with little girls! Eden is growing into such a cute little girl, and is starting to talk...or continuing rather. Its quite cute to see her come up with new words. We had a blast with them yesterday, tossing them into the air, tickling them, kissing them. It was fun.
The Amazing Race...I enjoyed it quite a lot last night! I have picked a favorite team. Duke & Lauern from Rhode Island. They were so great last night! :) GO TEAM! (They came in 2nd).
I really enjoyed the race last night!
I'm meeting Chels for breakfast, gotta go!

Snow
Well this morning as I drove to work it happened. The white little demons were back. It started snowing as I entered the intersection of Crowchild Trail and
I got to drive to work in the Jetta today. Mmmmm…warm tooshie. I had my seat heater cranked up to 5 (which I think you could cook an egg on if you tried). It was wonderful.
I talked to my Mom today, and she has to go get her dog put down. Her dog has gotten really sick over the past couple weeks, and its time for him to go to sleep. I’m very sad for her.
I watched Survivor the other day. I gave in…but it was the same as every other survivor before it…except of course for the controversial way the tribes were divided. Who cares. They’re all people. I think likely, most of us don’t even see a race anymore….at least I don’t think I do. I don’t think I’ll get sucked into that reality tv…I will however watch the AMAZING RACE!!! Which I believe starts on Sunday, along with CSI. I think those will be my 2 shows of choice this season.
My hockey league starts again in 2 weeks. I believe my team finished 6th. I’m excited. Except not about playing the orange team. Those guys are evil.
Ok, well this is becoming the way I am making this horribly slow day pass. I know someone will walk in at 2:55pm today. I just feel it. Anyway, am going home to make my husband his favorite…lemon meringue pie.

Rolling Stones

So Troy & I are going to see the Rolling Stones in Regina over Thanksgiving. Our dear friend Darin Wilson who happens to be a BIG celebrity and work on the television show Corner Gas , has invited us to come and visit him in Regina...and take in a Stones Concert. Now I can't say I'm especially a fan of the Stones...I've heard of them...but I don't know that I could ever identify a song of theirs. I guess I'll start having to do some research.
IN other news...today was a VERY frustrating day at work. The major objective of my job is to quote and write new insurance policies. Today I had 2 gentlemen, whom by first appearance, seemed quite smart and such. Anyway, both of whom I'd quoted in the past, and both came in to write up the insurance policy I had quoted for them. Well...the first elderly gentleman, upon his return home (after writing 2 policies in my office, and spending about 1 hour with me), called to tell me his current insurance policy was giving him about double the coverage for the same price, and that he'd like to cancel the policy he just wrote with me. Lovely. Second of all...another gentleman came in and did the exact same thing! That sort of thing BUGS THE HECK OUT OF ME! Like...do your research. Jeepers. Anyway.
I am going to go have a nap.

Freezing and Sleepy
Two of my least favorite things...being cold, and being tired. That's how I feel today. Yesterday I sat in my car and glared as I thought I saw little white balls of yuck plopping themselves on my car...all hairy and demonish. I think my eyes were playing tricks on me...we aren't supposed to get snow until tomorrow...but I glared at them all the same.
I love my flip flops...and have great pride in saying the only times I'd put my feet into socks in the last 6 months is when I've gone to the gym, or played floor hockey. I feel confident saying I hate socks...and I'm sad that sock season is coming back.
I'm also not very happy that my car starter won't work again until we spent probably about $500 to fix the necessary things on my car to get it working. That makes me want to stay in my home forever. I hate to be cold. And my beloved husband, bless his heart...has seat warmers in his car. Hmmm...maybe I can convince him to switch cars with me for the winter.
Onto a separate topic...I'm glad this blog has become more of a space for ranting. I like ranting. its fun. I love to play floor hockey, but I HATE to play floor hockey against the orange team. I actually lothe them. Last game, one girl...cross-checked me from behind into a wall. Yesterday it was bashing my legs with her stick...I think she also had the rest of her team ganging up against me....cause a different girl was attacking me, and jumped on my foot...and told me "watch it!" (I wonder...was that a threat or...?" (I told her to stop jumping on my feet...and to take it easy). Not only that, but I had slap shots aimed at me several times...and several times they hit me...I can't wait till I'm really good at floor hockey and then I can trip those guys, and smash them and all kinds of fun things...then I can chuckle to myself. Unfortunately (or fortunately) this is apparently a "non-contact" sport...however I received a lot of contact last night. I'm Angry.
What else...Burr...I'm still cold.
I think that's all I've got for today. :)

Phone Etiquette
Yesterday I answered a phone call at work, because the receptionist was on her lunch break. The conversation went like this.
"Good Afternoon (name of company where I work)"
"I'd like to speak with Jill"
"I'm sorry Jill is on another line at the moment, may I put you through to her voicemail?"
"I need to speak with her"
"I understand that but she is unavailable, do you have a number where she could call you back?"
"I'm at work"
"Ok, can you be contacted at work?"
"I might be busy"
"Ok, well I'm not sure what to tell you, because she is unavailable, and may be quite some time on the phone. Would you like to hold for her?"
"Ok, but I don't want to hold for too long. I need to speak with her."
"Alright sir, I can understand that, but I certainly can't say how long you'll be holding for, because there is no way of knowing how long she will be on the phone. I'll check back with you in a few minutes to see if you'd like to continue holding."
(put phone on hold)
This is completely unacceptable phone etiquette. It has been coming to my attention more and more lately that there are a lot of people on this planet who don't have any people skills, common sence, or common courtesty. It infuriates me. I realize I should calm down about it, and just take it in stride...but it annoys me to no end.
On another note, I had a thrilling conversation with my brother Josh last night. It was great fun, and I got to know all about his incredibly insane neighbor. Josh I wish you'd post that letter that he wrote you, and that you wrote him somewhere on the internet I could link to. That'd be a great idea!
Anyway, I'm going to make myself some cream of wheat for breakfast and get on my way to work.
**the Motorcycle woke me up again this morning, leaving me trying to think of where I could buy a paintball gun.**

FYI
If you live in a down town centre...please continue reading this. I fear a large number (not all) of people who live downtown have the wrong impression.
Just because you live in a trendy downtown neighborhood...or perhaps its not even trendy...perhaps its just downtown, and there are homeless people picking through your garbage...people at restaurants and bars almost all night, just down the street from you. Unless you have a bar license, this does not give you the right to have a bar in your own home.
Because you live downtown, this does not give you the right to turn your bass up and crank your music just below the place where your eardrums would burst. In case you don't have the capacity to jam it into your small head, I'll enlighten you... there are other people around...possibly who have the unique "priviledge" of living beside you...who are not interested in the horrible Mexican techno you love. Or perhaps you feel like because you live downtown you can have parties with people yelling and screaming until 3am...music blaring (of course bass again). No...you have been mislead...perhaps the mexican music has given you the wrong impression. Maybe you're the one who drives down the street on that horrible motorcycle with the very annoying exhaust that is louder than my normal YELLING voice in my home 3 stories up. I have been grossly close to getting a paint ball gun to remedy you...so I'd reccomend you find another street.
In closing...when you live in a building downtown, please do the rest of the human race a favor..and keep your music, tv & parties to a dull roar. Keep your vehicles to a dull roar...and don't honk your dumb ass horn outside at 6am cause you are waiting for someone and they are a bit late. Use your CELL PHONE and call them. The rest of the neighborhood is not late.
I'm infuriated at the people in this stupid neighborhood.

Yeah Janelle!!!
Ok so Janelle recovered last night, and is NO LONGER GOING HOME!!! How exciting. Whether she is able to rise above the evil Dr, and is buddy Boogie...I guess we'll find out in the next couple weeks... but I'm thrilled for now that she's staying in the home, and hopefully Janelle has learned her lesson to use those around her, and then stab them in the back...and be friends with the trustworthy Chicken George...(I think)...that's what I hope for her. Watching BB is getting nerve wracking...ugh.

Busy, and tired
Have been so delinquent in posting. Perhaps in the winter when there isn't so much busyness...(hopefully), I'll write more. Have been busy...had my friend Lexi here last weekend...babysat the Bier-babies one weekend, which was a blast! Hung out with Darren & Nicky tonight, had dinner with Chelsea and Andrew...its been nutso.
I hope life slows down. We've decided to go back East for Christmas/New Years, and have purchased our plane tickets, so that'll be fun. I think we're thinking baout spending New Years Eve in Manhattan. That would be quite the experience I think! Anyway. I'm EXHAUSTED!
I love BIG BROTHER!

Our New Car
You are of the first to see and know we are getting a NEW CAR! This is our new car...its a 2006 Volkswagen Jetta Wagon GTI. It is so awesome, and has so many cool features. We get it on Friday. Leather Interior, heated seats and a cute sun-glasses holder. Those are the highlights for me. I'm sure Troy thinks other parts are really cool...but to me...that its super cute...is a VW and those above 3 features make the deal for me. I can't wait until Friday! :) I had a hard time sleeping last night, and I'm sure that I may have a hard time sleeping until we get this cute car, and then probably after that too...cause I'll be so excited to drive it! :) I can't wait. I love it!
Ok, well I have much to share, however, I have to get ready for company! We're having Shawn & Sara over for dinner.
Ciao!

Delinquent
Sorry...I have been. Every day I read all the blogs that I know about and think..."WHY HAS NO ONE BLOGGED!" and of course, I am among those. Sorry if there's anyone reading this.
Emma is getting married in 2 days. I am thrilled! I can't wait! Life has been busy. I've joined a floor hockey league...did I put that in my last post? I play my 2nd game tonight. Tomorrow is The Keg & Phantom! Then early Friday morning we are off to Saskatoon. We've never been there before, so it should be fun. I'm excited.
Is anyone else watching BB7? I just love that show. I hope Janelle wins. She's my favorite. Or James...I think one of those 2. Anyone from BB6 I'd be fine with. I think I may have to get the live feed. I know I have a sickness. Seems worth it for the low low price of $39.99 for the season. Hmmmm...
WE went to the stampede on Sunday night, we went to the concert with Starfield and Chris Thomlin & Third Day, but we left 4 songs into Third Day's set. We were too tired, and much more interested in the first two bands anyway. I love the concert. We also loved the dream home. Ironically, Troy had a hard time falling asleep cause he was imagining us living there...it was our dream home. Really.
I better go, my love is home, and we're going out to eat cause I had a really busy day today and don't feel like cooking! YEAH!

I didn't really have anything to say, just noticeed that lots of people haven't posted lately, and figured I should. :)
I love Big Brother All Stars. I hope Janelle wins. :) I love her!

Parade Day Sleep-in
Yeah! Parade day! I don't have to go to work until 12:30pm! Most people in Calgary don't have to go to work today until then (unless of course their job is parading around the streets of Calgary). One of the perks of living in this crazy city, (as far as I'm concerned) is the Stampede Parade morning sleep-in. Unfortunately due to some snow birds (or so we thought) we could not sleep in. The sound was TOO LOUD. Does anyone know what planes were flying over? I'd like to complain. yes sure they were doing their Canadian duty for those watching the parade, but what about the rest of us who were sleeping? And it wasn't one quick fly over...it was like 12 or so. Boo.
I woke up last night at about 5am and thought someone was in my house. Unfortunately I am prone to fear...and once my mind starts thinking about something...it becomes more and more real. I was woken up because I thought I heard the girl who lives above us, walking around very hard above us. (like stamping) (we never normally hear her walk). Anyway...this went on for quite a while, and then I started to remember the story my boss told me yesterday about someone getting their house broken into, through an open patio door, and the family who lived inside was tied up and such. I then began to think that our patio door was open...and although we are on the 3rd floor, someone could climb up the balcony's of they so desired...so of course, my mind started thinking someone was in our condo. Ugh.
Anyway, finally I got up the courage to go close the balcony door and eventually went back to sleep. I should have woken Troy up. Oh well.
Well...off to enjoy my morning off work. Hmmm...what to do...

We got Damn Friesen
As many of you may or may-not know, in round one of the playoffs the Calgary Flames played the Mighty Ducks. Jeff Friesen, otherwise known as Damn Friesen was on this team. He aquired the name Damn Friesen when he made some awful move which pushed the Calgary Flames further from the Stanley Cup which we all coveted. Anyway...Damn Friesen was traded today to the Flames. How ironic is that? Or is it...that Alanis Morissette song really messed that word up for me, and I'm not 100% sure if I'm using it write...but I would say...it has similarities to rain on your wedding day,or a free ride, when you've already paid...good advise that you just didn't take, and who would have thought it figures.
Yes TROY SHOULD POST MORE! Good point Craig. I'm happy to learn that the dinner that I made this morning in our new crock pot did not burn the condo down. Its the first time I've used it, and it occurred to me this afternoon that not all electrical appliances are safe at home alone. Apparently this one is. Pheuuuuuf! :)
So tomorrow is free beef day. The company I work for always buys a cow...from one of our clients, and the boss generously divides the cow between the employees. Usually he distributes it at some sort of company sponsored event where there's food, drinks, and well...taking insurance with the people we work with. We can't help it. That's tomorrow.
Anyway, I better go check on the bread I'm making for dinner. Mmmm....fresh bread.
**Craig, how do you post those pictures on your site? The only way I know how to do it is through (crap...I forget that free download...is it smile or something...?) Anyway...the way your pics look is cool, I'd like to learn to do that!

The Long Weekend is Over
Well the long weekend didn't seem very long...when you are spending 14 hours in the car driving to-and-from your weekend...it makes it more of a LONG DRIVE rather than a LONG WEEKEND. Troy & I had fun in Kelowna. I think my road rage is getting worse. I had a few "incidents" along the road with drivers I thought perhaps needed to either get off the road entirely, or re-take drivers training, which I was willing to give them. Man some people are frustrating! Actually...most people which we encountered on the long stretch of road beween Calgary and Kelowna yesterday were quite frustrating. Anyway... *deep breath*
Back to work again. I wonder what it feels like to retire. Good I think. Imagine not having to go back to work ever? How do people do that...I need a job with a pension. Hmmm...work today was lovely...as lovely as it can get the Tuesday of a long weekend.
Oh...what I wanted to add was that Kelowna was really fun, and Troy & I have been married now over 1 month. :) We took a day at the beach in Kelowna to celebrate this. We layed on the beach, swam in the lake, and rented a sea-doo to tool around on, on the lake. It was a blast! I had such a great time! We laughed lots and even tipped it over once from my CRAZY husbands driving. I love sea-dooing.
Anyway I'm trying to be a good little wife and bake my husband some cookies. I made him beef stroganoff for dinner from scratch...(However you spell that word). Anyway...
Craig you read my blog? COOL.
